Multa ceciderunt ut altius surgerent

Many things have fallen only to rise higher

Sancta Luscus Customs is an endeavour by Bram and Maria. We came up with the name by combining our two spirits. Sancta refers to the Sancta Maria; the holy Mary, a bit of a joke because she can’t do anything wrong. Bram has lost an eye during his life, so he is an actual one-eyed, the literal translation of Luscus.

We both have a profound relationship with bodyart and natural elements. We are novice tattooists and have a deep interest in the human body and the way we ornament our vessels during our life. Historical elements is something we are continuously using in our craft, that be tattoos or body jewellery. Maria tries to connect her Meso American heritage with the designs for Sancta Luscus Customs. Bram’s interest lies in ancient European ornamentals.

Our love for nature is something we practice while making jewellery. There is something raw and profound in using natural materials such as burl wood and opal stones. Each piece we make we let our eye wonder at the beauty and the uniqueness of the materials and use these qualities to make the pieces captivating and treasure the natural realm.
